Antonio Lombardo is an Associate Professor of Nanostructures and Devices at the London Centre for Nanotechnology (LCN) and the Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering at University College London (UCL). He leads the Nano Electronic Devices group (https://lombardo-lab.com/).

He earned his PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2014, where he continued his academic career as a Research Associate (2014–2018) and later as a Lecturer (2018–2020). During this period, he was also Fellow and Director of Studies in Engineering at Wolfson College, Cambridge (2014–2020).

In 2020, Antonio joined UCL as a Lecturer and was promoted to Associate Professor in 2023. He leads the LCN Nanofabrication Facility (https://lcn-cleanroom.com/) and serves as Vice-Chair of the UK and Ireland Chapter of the IEEE Electron Device Society. He is a Fellow of the UK Higher Education Academy and a member of the advisory board of the NanofabUK consortium.

With over 15 years of experience, Antonio specializes in the design, simulation, fabrication, and testing of electronic devices for applications in electronics, optoelectronics, brain-inspired (neuromorphic) computing, and microwave biosensing. He has published over 80 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and conferences, with almost 20,000 citations.
